Gentle cleansing for a timeless classic
Washing and caring for corduroy
To keep your favorite ribbed garments looking their best for a long time, you should wash them as infrequently as possible. Corduroy is very easy to care for, so dried stains can be easily brushed out thanks to the pile. Airing them outside will freshen up your corduroy garments.
If washing is necessary, turn the garment inside out to protect the velvety fabric. Use a mild liquid detergent for delicates or colors and select a gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Spin the corduroy (if at all) only at a low speed. Then turn it right side out, gently pull it into shape, and hang it to air dry – the fabric can felt in the dryer.
Always iron corduroy garments inside out at a low temperature, using a little steam if necessary. Place the corduroy on top of each other (iron blouses and shirts closed!) to prevent the fibers from being flattened and allow the rows to lie on top of each other.
