Please make sure you wash knitwear with similarly soft products—jeans, for example, can cause damage with their buttons and rivets. You should also close zippers before washing. You can further protect delicate items with a laundry bag.

The same rules apply to the proper care of our knitwear as for most MELA cotton products: Wash inside out with similar colors on a gentle cycle at 30˚, use a mild detergent, and spin as gently as possible.

Tip: You can remove excess water after washing by, for example, placing your knitted sweater on a clean towel and gently rolling it up. Please do not shake out your still-damp knitwear; instead, gently shape it and dry it flat. For ribbed knit items, gently push the ribs together a little.

If you plan to iron your knitwear, please turn it inside out first and set your iron to a low temperature. If you use a steamer, always iron your knitwear while it's lying flat – for example, on an ironing board or towel. This will prevent the knitwear's stitches from sagging and stretching under the influence of steam and gravity.
