We recommend washing these shorts on a gentle cycle at 30° to prevent shrinkage and to maintain their beautiful appearance. Cleaning and air drying your clothes at lower temperatures will save energy and money and help you minimize your carbon footprint.

MELA clothing is triple certified according to Fairtrade Cotton, the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and the Green Button. The shorts were made by our producers at Purecotz Ecolifestyles in Umargam, India.

We have a long-standing relationship with Purecotz that is based on transparency, friendship and working on an equal footing. Purecotz is a pilot partner of the new Fairtrade Textile Standard. The aim of the standard is to establish fair trade practices, wages and working conditions along the entire textile supply chain. Purecotz is one of the first textile factories to work according to the new standard and has agreed to increase its employees' wages beyond the current minimum wage to a living wage by 2026.

We pay attention to fair working conditions and a healthy working environment, and not just in the sewing department. From the cotton to the finished product, we can trace all components and guarantee compliance with ecological standards along the entire supply chain.

All our production steps take place in the countries where the raw materials come from. This helps to maximize local added value and shorten transport routes.
