Description

Our socks are free from polyamide and polyester. Even for the connecting seams, we do not use synthetic fibers, as is otherwise common in sock production. They consist of 97% Fairtrade organic cotton and 3% ROICA™ V550. This elastane fiber provides the necessary elasticity and is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Material Health Gold. In an environmental impact assessment by Hohenstein, it was proven that the material degrades gradually under defined test conditions. Thanks to the hand-linked, extra-flat toe seam, our socks feel pleasantly soft and comfortable against the skin. This model sits extra softly on the leg thanks to its rolled hem, avoiding pressure marks.

We recommend washing these socks at 30 °C on a gentle cycle and air drying them. We advise against using a tumble dryer. Lower wash temperatures and air drying save energy and can also help preserve the material and shape.

Sustainability

All MELA textiles are certified according to Fairtrade Cotton, the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and the Green Button. These three certifications address different points in our supply chain and complement each other in their social and environmental requirements.

Fairtrade Cotton stands for the Fairtrade Minimum Price and premium for cotton farmers, as well as requirements for labor rights and environmental protection in cotton cultivation.

GOTS sets ecological and social requirements for processing from raw material to the finished textile, including regulations on chemicals, wastewater, and working conditions.

The Green Button combines production requirements with the verification of our corporate due diligence.
