Description

Our towels, made from 100% Fairtrade organic cotton terry, are wonderfully soft, absorbent, and free from harmful substances. With reinforced selvedges and practical cotton hangers, they combine comfort with thoughtful craftsmanship. Tanvi is available in three sizes – as a guest towel (30 × 50 cm), as a classic hand towel (50 × 100 cm), and as a generous bath towel (70 × 140 cm). This turns an everyday action into a soothing ritual – gentle on you and mindful of the world.

We recommend washing towels at 40°. If you wash your laundry at lower temperatures and air dry it, you save energy and money, and you can minimize your ecological footprint.

Sustainability

All MELA textiles are triple certified according to Fairtrade Cotton, the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and the Grüner Knopf (Green Button) label. In our opinion, the social and ecological aspects of these standards complement each other perfectly, allowing us to confidently speak of holistically sustainable textiles.

Through the Fairtrade Cotton Standard, we ensure compliance with social criteria in raw material extraction. Particular emphasis is placed on fair remuneration for cotton farmers. With every MELA item purchased, you support Indian cotton cooperatives with a Fairtrade premium. In addition, MELA is part of the new Fairtrade Textile Standard and advocates for living wages throughout the entire supply chain.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) ensures that only ecologically optimized substances are used throughout the entire supply chain – from cotton cultivation to fabric dyeing – and that social standards are met. This is monitored by independent certification bodies.

Additionally, this item is certified with the governmental textile label Grüner Knopf (Green Button), which verifies social and environmental criteria at both product and company levels.
